Effective date: April 2, 2026
SchenkTech ("we", "us", or "our") built Grains ("the App") as a paid application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use the App.
Grains does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to us. The App runs entirely on your device. Your journal entries, photos, and settings remain on your device and are never sent to our servers.
Grains offers optional Face ID and Touch ID lock to protect your journal. Biometric data is handled entirely by your device's Secure Enclave and is never accessible to us or any third party.
Grains supports optional iCloud sync via CloudKit to keep your journal consistent across devices. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is not accessible to us. iCloud is operated by Apple and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The app works fully offline without iCloud enabled.
Grains may request access to your photo library to attach a daily photo to an entry. Photos are stored locally on your device (and in your iCloud account if sync is enabled). We do not have access to your photos.
The App does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Your journal entries, milestones, jar state, and settings are saved locally on your device using SwiftData. This data is not transmitted to any server and is not accessible to us.
The App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, you can contact us by opening an issue on our GitHub repository.
