About Cracks
Cracks is a tile-decay match-3 puzzle game where the board is always crumbling. Match tiles to reset their fracture level before they shatter into permanent holes. Every turn you don't match a tile, its cracks deepen.
Common Questions
- How does the fracture system work? — Every tile progresses through 5 fracture levels (0–4). Unmatched tiles advance one level per turn. Level 4 tiles shatter into permanent voids. Match tiles to reset their fracture level.
- What do special matches do? — Match 4 tiles for a Line Reinforcer (clears and resets an entire row or column). Match 5+ for a Restore Bomb (resets a 3x3 area). L-shaped or T-shaped matches create a Stabilizer (freezes tiles for 3 turns).
- When do I lose? — You lose when the board has more than 40% holes, or when no valid matches remain.
- How does star rating work? — 3 stars for completing with fewer than 5 holes, 2 stars with fewer than 15 holes, 1 star for just completing the objective.
- What are the different level objectives? — Survival (keep the board alive for N turns), Clear (match all tiles of a specific color), Anchor (protect marked tiles), Chain (make consecutive matches within 2 seconds), and Restore (recover a heavily cracked board).
- What is Zen Mode? — An infinite mode with procedurally-generated play and no fail conditions — just match and relax.
- What is the Daily Challenge? — A new handcrafted level every day with a global leaderboard. The same level is available to all players.
- Is my progress saved? — Yes, your progress is saved automatically on your device and can sync across devices via iCloud.
- Does Cracks require an internet connection? — No. An internet connection is only needed for Game Center leaderboards, daily challenges, and iCloud sync.
